Our Mission
Working collectively to end hunger and homelessness through public education, technical assistance, public policy analysis, advocacy, organizing and community action.
History
LACEH&H was founded as the Los Angeles Countywide Coalition on the Homeless in 1985, with close ties to the United Way. It was incorporated as a private, nonprofit in 1991 and became the LA Coalition to End Homelessness in 1993. In December, 1996 the mission and work-plan was expanded to include hunger issues, subsuming some of the great work done by the Southern California Interfaith Hunger Coalition, and the name changed to the Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger and Homelessness [LACEH&H].
